Bolton v Spurs Could Have Some Great In Running Bets

This has been a trip that Spurs have dreaded in recent seasons with Bolton often having the measure of Spurs at the Reebok Stadium. Spurs can’t afford a slip up here as they bid for a place in the top four but the points are just as important for Bolton who are in their own battle nearer the bottom of the league. This should be a very entertaining match but what are the bets that can make it a profitable match for punters?

Bolton have been backed for relegation ahead of this match with many punters clearly thinking that they are going to fail to win. The ValueChecker Steamers have highlighted the fact that there has been a 9.2% drop in Bolton’s odds to be relegated with them being cut from average odds of 2.54 into 2.4 recently. The best odds still available on Bolton being relegated this season are 2.5 ahead of this match.

According to the Bolton ValueChecker wikis they are consistently one of the worst teams in the Premiership for failing to score in games. In the 10/11 Premiership season Bolton failed to score in 11 matches which was amongst the worst in the league whilst in the 09/10 season they failed to score in 16 matches. In the 10/11 season they had Daniel Sturridge on loan from Chelsea and without him their stats for this would have been even worse. Tottenham’s best chance of a win could be by keeping a clean sheet.

Bolton are also one of the worst sides in the Premiership for a comeback if they are losing at half time. Coming back from a half time deficit is never easy but Bolton are amongst the worst at it, in the 10/11 Premiership season Bolton were losing 13 games at half time and they didn’t end up winning any of them and they only drew 2 of them, meaning 11 out of 13 games were lost. The season before Bolton were in a losing position 16 times at half time and although they did go on to win once, they lost the other 15.

Interestingly Tottenham look a team to follow when they are winning at half time according to the Tottenham ValueChecker wikis. In the 10/11 Premiership season Spurs were winning 10 games at half time and went on to win 8 of them (the other 2 ended in draws). In the 09/10 season Spurs were even better at holding on to their half time leads, they held the lead at half time in 18 games and went on to win 17 of them, losing the other. With Bolton having the opposite record if Spurs are ahead at half time they will look a very solid in running bet.

Bolton may often struggle to score but they do have a good chance of getting one goal in this match as Tottenham have become more reliable in recent years, especially when it comes to how many goals they are conceding. In the 10/11 Premiership season they conceded precisely 1 goal in 19 matches which is half of their league games whilst the season before it was 16 games where Tottenham conceded exactly 1 goal. In both of those seasons no other side conceded exactly 1 goal on more occasions.
