Both Teams Likely To Score As QPR Visit Arsenal

News that Thierry Henry could soon be seen once again in an Arsenal shirt will have Arsenal fans extremely excited, especially with their over reliance on Robin Van Persie this season. It often seems that if Van Persie doesn't score then Arsenal don't win and that was certainly the case when Arsenal dropped points at home to Wolves during the week. QPR picked up a valuable point at Swansea on Tuesday but they are still edging towards the bottom three and Neil Warnock looks sure to be dipping into the transfer market at the earliest opportunity as he bids to keep QPR in the top flight.

Robin Van Persie isn't sure to start despite needing just two goals to equal Alan Shearer's record of 36 goals in a calendar year, there was speculation that he might not play against Wolves but after ninety minutes in that game Arsene Wenger may not want to risk his star player with a second game in five days, especially with another game at Fulham on Monday. Theo Walcott, who has been in good form this season, missed the game against Wolves because of illness but the forward is hopeful he will be fit to return in this match against QPR.

Adel Taarabt has improved his attitude towards training in recent weeks according to Neil Warnock and it seemed to show in the match against Swansea on Tuesday and the Moroccan international is likely to keep his place after starting his first game since October. Shaun Wright-Phillips is back in contention for QPR after recovering from injury this week.

If Robin Van Persie doesn't start in this match then you can certainly expect Arsenal's goalscoring abilities to be reduced, the Arsenal ValueChecker Wikis show how much a threat Van Persie can be and you don't score 34 goals in a calendar unless you are an extremely good player. This might not be the highest scoring game but there is good reason to think both teams can get on the scoresheet whether Van Persie plays or not, Arsenal have not failed to score at home in the league since their first home game of the season whilst QPR have a decent scoreing record, they have netted three goals in their last two matches.
