Chelsea To Take Advantage Of Fulham's Poor Derby Record

Chelsea will have been pleased to have avoided defeat at White Hart Lane last week but at the same time they will have probably been a bit disappointed they didn't go on to win the game in the second half. After two draws in a row Andre Villas-Boas will be looking to return to winning ways in this match in his first game against local rivals Fulham. The away side come into this game off the back of a thrashing at the hands of Man Utd and losing that game by such a wide margin at home will be a worry for Martin Jol heading into this match as Fulham have performed much worse away from home this season than they have done at Craven Cottage.

Chelsea have now gone five Premiership matches without defeat but after two draws they need a win here. Only Man City have won more home games than Chelsea this season, Chelsea have six wins from their eight league games at Stamford Bridge and with Daniel Sturridge in good form (five goals in six matches) Chelsea fans will be confident going into this game.

Not many pundits have been tipping Fulham for relegation this season but they still sit only four points above the relegation zone currently and their away form must be a big worry for Martin Jol, Fulham have the fourth worst away record in the entire league with just six points gained in their eight away matches. Fulham really need to put a decent run of results together soon but the fact that their recent form is won two, drawn two. lost two shows how inconsistent they can be.

Chelsea have a strong home record this season whilst Fulham have a poor away record which suggests Chelsea should be a strong bet in this match and the final nail in Fulham's coffin could be their record in London derbies. The Chelsea ValueChecker wikis show that for the past two seasons Fulham have performed worse than the other London clubs in London derbies, achieving just five points from eight games against London clubs two seasons ago whilst last season they didn't beat any London clubs and gained just three points in these games.
