Chris Iwelumo Favourite to Score Anytime Against his Former Club. Burnley v Watford

By Marc Owen-Banks on 05/08/2011 21:10

Chris Iwelumo has departed Burnley and switched to Vicarage Road and Watford. By a quirk of fate, the two sides meet in the opening game of their campaigns in the Championship on Saturday. Iwelumo was prolific for Burnley last season and will be a loss, he was also most effective in front of goal at Turf Moor. What odds for him to score today against his former club?

Betfred will go 17/2 for him to score first and just over 5/2 for him to score at any-time during the game.

Based on previous results between these sides here, the last four matches at Turf Moor between the sides have ended 3-2, 3-2, 4-1, 3-1, we have to consider he has every chance of making a scoring contribution and is worth taking at the 5/2 on offer. Also, with this run of results in mind, We should also be considering both the HOME WIN at 1.95 with Victor Chandler.

The OVER 2.5 Goals bet with Sportingbet could turn out to be generous at 1.8. Last season, 60% of Watford's games, home and away would have qualified for the bet. This coupled with past goalfests between the sides at Turfmoor, make this an investment worth making.

Recommendation: Iwelumo to score anytime, and add in Burnley home win too!! There could be goals, 1.8 for OVER 2.5 is value
