Leeds United – Transfer News & Npower Championship Preview

Leeds United are a best priced 6/1 to get promoted to the Premier League this season. Whilst laying is for the brave only, Valuechecker would have confidence in making a lay of this outcome. Leeds United spent most of last season in the play off positions, only to blow it late on and fall out of promotion contention with Reading making the late charge to gain a place. Eventually they finished three points shy of Nottingham Forest in 6th position.

So, the 2011/12 season should be anticipated with exceptional hope. Well, hope is perhaps what will be relied upon heavily, as although the side have been one of the most active in the transfer gossip rumour mill, little in contrast has happened, and transfers in and out to date look to be more damaging than strengthening

Kasper Schmeichel has moved to rivals and league favourites for this season, Leicester City and Bradley Johnson has taken up tenure at Premier League Norwich City. They are two players that will be missed for sure.

Coming in are two goalkeepers. Andy Lonergan from Preston North End will almost certainly be the number two to former Blackpool keeper Paul Rachubka. 34 year old journeyman midfielder Micheal Brown joins on a free transfer from Portsmouth to add some steel to the midfield. Other than that, Leeds will be taking to the field with virtually the same squad, a squad that needs one or two more players if they are to surpass last seasons performance and make a play off place.

Leeds fans could be frustrated in 2011/12

Recommendation: Valuechecker is convinced that Leeds will NOT get promoted this season
