Man Utd Should Be Confident About Beating Arsenal

This has to be the game of the weekend and probably the game of the season so far but it will have lost most of its sparkle as in previous seasons it has been a game to decide the title but now it might only decide whether or not Arsenal even finish in the top four. The bookies now make Liverpool more favoured than Arsenal in the title odds and unless Arsene Wenger strengthens before the transfer deadline closes they could be in for a very tough season without Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.

Man Utd are hopeful that Rio Ferdinand will return from a hamstring injury although the performance of Man Utd's make shift back four last week doesn't even guarantee him a starting place should he be fit. Man Utd will definitely be without Nemanja Vidic and Rafael who are both still out injured but there is better news for Darren Fletcher who could return after playing 90 minutes in a midweek reserve match.

Arsenal will be without Jack Wilshere for another three weeks which is another blow after two departures in that position, especially with Alex Song and Emmanuel Frimpong suspended. Gervinho is also suspended whilst Arsenal's chance of a result would diminish further if Thomas Vermaelen fails a late fitness test.

Man Utd haven't been this well backed to beat Arsenal in the last decade and there is every reason to back Man Utd to win the game, their young side looks very strong whilst Arsenal have to contend with player sales, injuries and suspensions of biblical proportions. On paper Man Utd will field a much stronger eleven and they are a confident bet for the end of the weekend.

Recommendation: BACK MAN UTD TO BEAT ARSENAL
