Market Moves In Premiership Outright Betting

After a busy festive period for Premiership backers there is now a slight break for the FA Cup Third Round but it seems Premiership punters have turned their attentions to the Premiership outright markets in recent days.

According to the ValueChecker Steamers there have been several odds cuts amongst the most popular Premiership outright markets. One of those odds cuts came in the title race where punters were quick to back Man City for the title following Man Utd’s loss at Newcastle. There was an average change in odds from 1.50 to 1.48 which may not seem a great move but it represents a 3.4% drop in odds. Punters are clearly thinking there are many chinks in Man Utd’s armour.

The win for Bolton on Wednesday night also meant punters were backing Blackburn to go down this season, their relegation odds changed on average from 1.57 to 1.52 and that represented an 8.4% drop in odds on Steve Kean’s side going down.

The biggest market move according to the ValueChecker Steamers though was on Demba Ba being the Premiership’s top scorer this season. Ba scored yet again against Man Utd making it 15 goals for the season, just two behind top goalscorer Robin Van Persie. Ba was backed from 14.00 to 10.00 which was an average price change of 29.3%. The problem for those that backed Demba Ba is that he is now off to the African Cup Of Nations meaning he will lose ground on the other top scorers in the Premiership.
