Middlesbrough v Peterborough Match Preview

Although not challenging for anything in the division, Peterborough have to go down as one of the more entertaining sides in the Npower Championship. No side has been involved with goals per game than they.  There have been an average of over 3.5 goals per game that they have played.

This is in contrast with their hosts Middlesbrough, who sit at the other end of the spectrum. If looking at a table of teams in the goals per game window, Boro would be second bottom to only Crystal Palace with just 2.09 goals per game.

So where will this game go? I think there will be goals despite Boro’s record of games under 2.5, this can buck the trend. Peterborough are more than capable of scoring and Tony Mowbray’s side will have to outscore them to take all three points and keep the pressure on West Ham with whom they share 44 points. Boro are third on goal difference. Whilst that is not likely to change, they have to keep picking up maximum points when available. This is certainly a game they should win.

Recommendation: Back HOME WIN at 1.80, and OVER 2.5 Goals at the same price.
