Portsmouth go to the Dogs on Boxing Day

The Isle of Dogs that is! A trip to Millwall is Portsmouth’s Boxing day game and after holding local rivals and table toppers Southampton to a draw last Sunday; they should arrive with a degree of confidence despite losing impressive midfielder Thorne back to his parent club West Brom as they recall their loanee.

Portsmouth have relied on their home form this season to keep their heads above the relegation water though, so perhaps at the New Den, a draw would be the best they could expect. They are unbeaten in four matches however, and will give Millwall a test.

Kenny Jacketts side have won only once in seven games coming into this match, with four losses a a brace of draws. Confidence may not be high and Jackett will be tested to get his side out with a 100% positive attitude.  Portsmouth have taken all three points the last twice they have visited, a 0-1 reverse last season, before having to go back to their promotion season in 2003 when they came and won 0-5.

Millwall sit four points and four places behind Portsmouth in the Npower Championship table, and are flirting dangerously close to the relegation spots. Expect no fireworks on the day, this could be a drab battle for a point for each side. The draw can be backed at 3.40 with UNIBET and that is the best available as every other firm goes 2.25.

Recommendation: A tricky DRAW is the call at 3.4 with UNIBET
