Roy Keane The New Favourite To Replace Steve McClaren At Nottingham Forest

There have already been plenty of ups and downs in the Next Nottingham Forest Manager Odds and we have yet another new favourite in the form of Roy Keane, who has been out of management since leaving Ipswich in January. He replaces MK Dons boss Karl Robinson, who has been well touted for this job, as favourite.

Roy Keane looks a bit of a surprise choice presuming this gamble on the ex Forest player has some foundation, previous managers have left Nottingham Forest not only due to results, but also due to financial issues surrounding lack of promised funds for buying players. Roy Keane is certainly a man who won't stand for anything but honesty regarding available funds so this could end up another short term appointment if he does get the job, and the current odds suggest he is now by far the most likely candidate.

Karl Robinson admitted that he was flattered by the interest Forest showed in him for the vacant manager's job but he also said that he has a job to finish at MK Dons and it looks as though he is going to get an opportunity to finish that job as he is currently on the drift in the Next Nottingham Forest Manager odds. Robinson is still the clear second favourite for the job at the City Ground though and if things don't work out with Keane he could once again become the favourite.

Billy Davies was a surprise candidate for the Forest job just three months after he was sacked as manager of Nottingham Forest, perhaps the board now think he did a pretty good job to reach the playoffs and could be willing to admit that mistake but that rarely happens in football and he still looks an unlikely contender despite the fact that he is the third favourite. Alan Shearer and Martin O'Neill are also amongst the favourites but Shearer doesn't look in any hurry to return to management whilst Martin O'Neill will surely hold out for a Premiership job. Stronger contenders could be the likes of Paul Hart, Phil Brown and Brian Laws who look the sort of managers who would take this sort of job.
