Goals At Both Ends Predicted For Tottenham v Swansea

The second of the live games on Sunday afternoon should be a great festival of football with both teams amongst the best teams to watch in the Premiership. We can certainly expect plenty of good football and the ValueChecker wikis on each team should tell us more that we can expect in this match and point us in the direction of some good bets.

The Tottenham ValueChecker wikis show that Tottenham have been a great team to back at home in recent years. Between the start of the 09/10 Premiership season and the end of the 10/11 Premiership season Tottenham lost just four matches at home (just one in the latter season). Only Man Utd and Chelsea lost fewer home games in this time period. It is also worth noting that Spurs are a good team to back against top half opposition and Swansea currently qualify as top half opposition as they sit tenth in the table at the time of writing. n the 10/11 Premiership season only the Champions Man Utd had a better record against the top half teams in the division, Tottenham were short of the best record by just three points as they amassed 30 points in the 18 games against the teams that finished in the top ten. This was no fluke, the season before they had the third best record against the top half behind Chelsea and Man Utd picking up 31 points against the top half teams, just two short of the best record and five points clear of Man City who had the fourth best record against top half teams.

Both of these teams like to play good football and like to attack and this game could go the way of many other Spurs games with goals often going in at both ends in their matches. In the 10/11 Premiership season Tottenham recorded by far the most 2-1 victories, that was the winning scoreline in 8 of their league matches, whilst the season before it was exactly the same with another 8 2-1 wins. The 2-1 scoreline in this match could be overpriced by the bookies.

Meanwhile according to the Swansea ValueChecker wikis, Swansea drew very few games in the 10/11 season when they were promoted from the Championship to the Premiership. Only one team had fewer draws than the 8 during Swansea’s season so this game is likely to go one way or the other and with Spurs very good at home it looks more likely to go the way of the home team.
